  • Planning my next adventure Kodiak Alaska

Well, having successfully made my first solo voyage, not it’s time to start thinking about the next one.

This will be a trip from seward Alaska to Kodiak Alaska.

I have about a month to plan this one out. I will be setting sail mid June and plan on taking 10 days to two weeks for this. The trip involves a 145NM open water jaunt with no escaping the elements. I have got to choose my weather wisely, and be prepared to leave early and cruise for 18 hours.

Fortunately here in Alaska it’s getting to the point where it really does not get dark any more, so that will make it less stressful

Once I plotted it out I’m pretty happy with a direct route. 202 degrees bearing should put the prevailing waves on my port bow, and then on my starboard stern for the return.
